CalCoach tracks four micronutrients alongside your calories and macros: fibre, sugar, saturated fat and sodium. Vitamins and minerals beyond these are not tracked.

Where the values come from

Each log gets its micronutrient values in one of two ways:

  1. From the food data. When a label photo, barcode or database match includes these values, CalCoach uses them as they are. So do any values you enter yourself.
  2. Estimated. Where a food has no values for them, CalCoach estimates them from the food, its ingredients and its macros. This happens in the background shortly after you log, so the numbers may take a moment to appear.

Estimated values are never allowed to override values from a label or your own entry. The same food logged the same way gets the same estimate each time.

See your micronutrients

Micronutrients do not appear on the Diary or the dials. Ask Cal instead, for example:

  • "How much fibre have I had this week?" gives a day-by-day chart for one micronutrient.
  • "Show my micros for today" gives a Micronutrients table with the total and daily average for each.

Each request covers up to 7 days. If some older logs are still missing values, Cal estimates them first, so the first request for a period can take a little longer. Repeat requests are quick.

Coaches can ask the same questions about a client, and can include micronutrients in a PDF report.

How complete the numbers are

Most values are estimates, and the widget is marked "AI-estimated values, may not be 100% accurate". Treat them as a guide to patterns over days, not as precise figures. If a food matched from our database looks wrong, tap the ⋮ menu on the log and choose Report data.

Sodium is shown in grams of sodium, not salt. Food labels in the UK usually show salt, which is about 2.5 times the sodium figure.
