CalCoach has a chat for each group of people you are connected to: one with each of your coaches, one with your accountability partner, one for each challenge you are in and one for your challenge team. You never have to set these up. Each chat appears once the connection or challenge exists.
Where to find them
- Coach and partner chats are on the Community tab (the people icon). If you are a coach, the same icon opens Clients instead.
- Challenge chats are inside each challenge. Open it from the Challenges tab and switch to the Chat tab. Your team's chat is under the menu as Team chat.
Posting, replying and reacting
- Type in the box at the bottom and tap Send. You can attach a GIF.
- To reply to a message, swipe it. Replies always go into a thread under that message, so the main chat stays readable.
- Long-press a message to react (โค๏ธ ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ ๐ช ๐), or to Edit, Delete or Report it.
Reported messages go to the CalCoach team for review. A challenge organiser can also remove messages in their challenge.
Automatic posts
Some posts are written by CalCoach when something happens. They say that something happened, never how much or whether it was good.
- Partner chat shows your first log of the day, weigh-ins, workouts and logging streak milestones, for both of you.
- Coach chat shows moments like reaching your protein or calorie target, hitting your step goal, a weigh-in, a workout, a submitted check-in and a summary of the previous day at 07:00 your time. These posts include the numbers, because your coach can already see them.
- Challenge chats post when someone (or a team) takes the lead. They never show anyone's personal numbers.
Backdated entries, such as days synced from Apple Health, don't create posts.
Notifications
Open a chat, tap the menu, then About this chat and choose Everything, Mentions & announcements or Muted. Challenge chats start on Mentions & announcements. When several messages arrive close together you get one notification for the batch rather than one each.
