A check-in is a short form your coach sends on a regular schedule, such as every Sunday morning. It asks how you are getting on in your own words. Only coaches can create check-ins, so you will only receive them if you have a coach in CalCoach.
How a check-in arrives
When a check-in is due:
- A card appears in your Chat tab: "Your check-in … is ready — tap the card to complete it."
- You get a Check-in due notification.
- The Diary shows a pending check-in card marked Due today, Due yesterday or how many days ago it was due.
Your coach may also share a link to a check-in, which opens it in the app.
If your coach has turned on reminders, you get a Check-in reminder notification while it is still unanswered.
Answer a check-in
- Tap the card in Chat or the Diary.
- Answer one question per screen. Questions can be a scale out of 10, a written answer, a choice from a list, or several choices.
- Questions marked Optional can be skipped with Skip.
- Tap Continue to move on, and Finish on the last question.
When you finish, the app confirms: "Your coach will see it shortly."
You can submit each check-in once. If you open it again, the app tells you it has already been completed. If a link says This link is no longer active, ask your coach for a new one, or look for pending check-ins in your Diary.
What your coach sees
Your coach sees your answers to each check-in on their CalCoach dashboard, and may get an email when you submit. They see your answers as you wrote them.
When your coach asks Cal to help review your progress, Cal can read your recent check-in answers too.
