Save a favourite
- Tap Favourite on any log card. It changes to Favourited. Tap again to remove it.
- Or ask Cal: "save this as a favourite".
Log a favourite
From the Favourites list:
- In Chat, tap Favourites next to the message box.
- Search, or sort by Recently added or Most used.
- Tap a food to log one serving. To log a different amount first, use − and + on that row (×0.5, ×1.5, ×2 and so on).
To log several at once, tick them and tap Log N selected.
By name in chat: type "my chicken and rice" or "2 portions of my chilli". Cal logs the saved food with its saved numbers, scaled exactly to the amount. If the favourite was saved with a unit, such as 250ml, you can give an amount in the same kind of unit ("125ml") and it scales to match. For a one-word favourite like "Banana", mention it is a favourite ("my favourite banana").
Edit or remove a favourite
In the Favourites list, tap the pencil icon or long-press a food. Then choose:
- Edit to change the name, ingredients or numbers, then Save changes
- Make regular to add it to My Regulars
- Remove to delete it
Editing a favourite changes future logs only. Past logs keep their numbers.
To combine several favourites into one, tick them and tap Create meal.
Recipes and portions
When you save a dish you have batch-cooked, tell Cal how many portions it makes: "save my chilli, the whole pot makes 6 portions". Cal saves what one portion contains, so logging "a portion of my chilli" gives one sixth of the pot.
My Regulars
Regulars are meals you have on a repeating schedule, such as "muesli for breakfast on weekdays". Set them up in Account → My Regulars and tap + Add, or tell Cal ("I have a protein shake after the gym every Monday").
Regulars appear in the Meal Plan section of the Diary on the days they are due. Tap Log to log one, or Skip if you did not have it.
